Origin of his name:
Named for former wildlife keeper, Andrea Ainger, who found him along I-90.

 

Species:
Bubo virginianus (Great Horned Owl)

 

Status as of November 1, 2015:
Okay to work. Best to get the leather jesses through his grommets before he's on the glove.

 

Rescue Story:
Admitted June 7, 2005, with a vision impairment in his right eye. Was found along I-90, probably hit by a car. He is blind in his right eye, but otherwise healthy - he is fully flighted.
