Origin of his name:
His coloring is a bit...well, "dusty" looking. He was named by 2009 summer clinic seasonals, Sheri and Laura.

Species:
Buteo jamaicensis (Red-tailed Hawk)

Status:
Dusty was put on the exhibit trail, and he is no longer an education raptor.

Rescue Story:
Admitted July 26, 2009, with vision impairment in his right eye, a fractured clavicle and an odd looking toe on his left foot. His clavicle healed, but he is blind in his right eye.
