Willowbrook Wildlife Center Raptor Volunteer Interpreteres

Henna

Origin of her name:
Henna is another word for "dark brown" and she is a dark morph hawk. Only after her arrival at Willowbrook was it determined she is a female. When she arrived her name was Xavier which means splendid... and she is a splendid looking bird.

Species:
Buteo jamaicensis (Red-tailed Hawk)

Status as of November 1, 2015:
There have been issues with Alba and Henna playing the on-the-ground game when someone goes in to work them. Education staff has been intermittently moving Alba and Henna into smaller cages to avoid such behavior.

Rescue Story:
Arrived with Alba November 2011 with a permanently injured left wing.
